Canillo

Canyoning in Andorra

Canyoning means making your way down a river gorge on foot and in the water: abseiling past waterfalls, jumping into pools and sliding down rock chutes worn smooth by centuries of meltwater. In the canyon near Canillo, your guide walks the route with you the whole way, sets the pace for your group and picks a jump or a slide depending on who's up for what. From a nervous first go to a seasoned canyon fan, everyone comes out grinning.

Who This Is For

Built for two kinds of groups

Three mountain bikers smiling with their bikes on a mountain ridge
16–38 · Friends, couples, crews

Your crew, your pace

You don't want a queue of tourists or a guide reading off a script. Our groups stay small, the pace is set by whoever's out front, and the routes are honestly graded, so "advanced" really means advanced. Combine canyoning, via ferrata and a day in Bikepark Vallnord in one trip, and earn those beers afterwards for real.

Families · Kids & teens 12–20

Everyone in, no one bored

The hardest part of a family trip is finding something that works for your 12-year-old and your 19-year-old at the same time. De la Mora and canyoning welcome kids from age 10; Del Quer is there for the teenager who wants a bit more. Clear age minimums, no surprises on the day.

Why Andorra Outdoor

Guided properly, or not at all

Places nobody else gets to

Canyoning takes you where you would never go on your own: deep in a gorge, between rock walls, under a waterfall. That is exactly what makes it special.

A safe trip, always

Our guides know every metre of the route and adjust to whatever the day, the group and the conditions call for. Safety comes first, every time.

Small groups, per guide

Canyoning and via ferrata run in groups of up to 10 people per guide, mountain bike guiding up to 6 per guide. Bigger group? We simply bring in another guide.

Dutch, fully certified guides

Taking you into the mountains is what our guides love doing most. They are Dutch, certified, and guide all season, both in Andorra and in France. Whatever happens, they make sure your trip is a safe one.

What's included, per activity

Canyoning

Wetsuit, helmet, harness, canyoning shoes and neoprene socks are included. Bring your own swimwear and a towel.

Via ferrata

A rockfall helmet and via ferrata harness are included. Bring sporty clothing, sturdy shoes and 2 litres of water per person.

Mountain biking

Bring your own bike or rent one locally, we provide the guide. Protective gear can be rented on-site too, we recommend a full-face helmet.

Make your own way to the meeting point in your confirmation email. That is where you will get all the gear, and your guide takes it from there.

★★★★★

An amazing via ferrata with knowledgeable and well equipped guides Lieke and Marc. Really enjoyed it, even the scary/difficult bits of the climb.

Before You Book

Questions we get a lot

What exactly is canyoning, and is it safe for beginners and kids?

Canyoning is making your way down a river gorge by walking, climbing, jumping and abseiling through the water. The canyon near Canillo is chosen and briefed by a certified guide who adapts the line, jumps and pace to the group. It's open from age 10, no prior experience needed. You're fitted with a wetsuit, harness and helmet, and shown exactly what to do before the first jump.

What's the difference between De la Mora and Del Quer?

De la Mora is our beginner-friendly via ferrata: 2–3 hours, medium fitness, open from age 10. Del Quer is longer and more demanding: 3–4 hours, hard fitness required, open from age 16. Both are in Canillo and you're clipped to a safety cable throughout.

Do I need mountain bike experience for Bikepark Vallnord?

No, we guide riders from beginner to advanced. Trail choice and coaching are matched to your group, which is capped at 6 people per guide.

What should I bring?

Canyoning: wetsuit, helmet, harness, canyoning shoes and neoprene socks are included, bring your own swimwear and a towel. Via ferrata: a rockfall helmet and via ferrata harness are included, bring sporty clothing, sturdy shoes and 2 litres of water per person. Mountain biking: bring your own bike or rent one locally, protective gear can be rented on-site and we recommend a full-face helmet.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We monitor the weather around the clock and let you know in good time if bad weather is on the way. Mountain weather can turn quickly, so a trip can still be cancelled on the day itself for safety. If that happens, we reschedule or refund you.

Which languages do your guides speak?

All our guides are Dutch. Canyoning and via ferrata can be guided in English, Dutch or French depending on availability. Mountain bike guiding is only available in Dutch and English.

Where exactly do the activities take place?

Canyoning and via ferrata run in and around Canillo. Guided mountain biking takes place in Bikepark Vallnord, in La Massana, both easily reached from Andorra la Vella.

Why can't I book mountain bike guiding directly online?

Mountain bike guiding is arranged personally so we can match you with the right guide and confirm group size and dates in advance. Message us on WhatsApp or send an email and we'll get back to you quickly.

Can I also book through GetYourGuide?

Yes, canyoning and via ferrata can also be booked through GetYourGuide. We pay a commission on those bookings, so if you book directly with us on this site, you pay the same price and support us that little bit more directly.
